A Vocational Independent Occupational Assessment is undertaken at the other end of the pathway — once the client’s rehabilitation has been completed.
It revisits the vocational rehabilitation services that were delivered and the work type options identified in the Initial Occupational Assessment, and forms an independent view of where the client now stands.
Why it matters
Circumstances change over the course of a rehabilitation programme. Recovery may open up options that were previously unrealistic, or close off others. This assessment tests the earlier conclusions against what is actually true now, rather than assuming the original plan still holds.
What the client receives
An independent written report covering the rehabilitation provided, the work types considered, and a reasoned conclusion about vocational suitability.
